Unclog a drain

Most clogs clear with a plunger or a simple drain snake.

Try in order

1. Remove and clean the stopper
2. Use a cup plunger for sinks and a flange plunger for toilets
3. Use a plastic drain snake or a toilet auger
4. Clean the P-trap under the sink, with a bucket underneath

Careful

Chemical drain cleaners can harm pipes and skin. Never mix them with other cleaners, and never plunge after using one.
